The summer more than half way over, and there have been perhaps 5 days with the tempurature over 75 degrees so far here in Ireland. For the most part it has been cold and wet for the entire season, I would normally be really annoyed with a summer like this, but for some reason I don't mind it as much because the winter was exactly the same. Not freezing tempuratures, but windy and chilly with the air always moist. The tempurature doesn't really vary to much, with the coldest I've seen being 4 Celcius and the Warmest being 22 Celcius. After having said all that I could use a week of uninterrupted sunshine just to boost my morale, but anymore than that and I would be sick of it. I've been looking at the possibility of going to Paris in October, but it wouldn't be very sunny there that time of year, so the other option is Porto, Portugal. I think the weather would be just right, and I'm even more interested in the variety of foods to try. I will have to decide soon, because the prices of the flights won't stay cheap for too much longer.

My friend Josh visted me for 5 days last week, it was the first time that I have seen him since last summer when I was in Boston. Ireland was the first stop on his European tour, which will see him making stops in 7 more countries. During his time here he saw alot of the city and spent alot of time enjoying the Irish pub life. he flew out of Cork airport on Tuesday on his way to London, I wish that I was going on his trip with him. Some of the places he is going, have been on my list for a long time.
The weekend before Josh arrived I went to Killarney in the west of Ireland with a group of students from work. The students were from a school in France called Compagnon du Devoirs, it is located about 100 km from Paris. It was an interesting day, because my french is very minimum and their english was even worst if possible at all. I had to communicate alot based on facial expressions and body language which is something most Americans aren't familiar with, as we have a very verbal society. I had a great time with them, and as a result i think I made a few new friends even though we don't speak the same language. However I am working on changing that. I started french lessons a few weeks ago at the Alliance Francais, I'm not convinced it is the best action yet, I think what i will have to do is spend a significant amount of time in a french speaking country in order to become fluent.
Tomorrow is the 4th of July, American Independence day. For the first time that I can remember I won't be seeing fireworks in New York, Boston, Texas, or any of the other places I've seen them before.
In fact I will spend the morning working on my advertising project here in the office, and then I am off for the afternoon, and if the weather is nice I will spend it sitting in Fitzgerald's park reading the book I bought today. There will be no fireworks, because as I was told they are illegal in the entire country. Well I suppose this picture of fireworks will have to do for now.
