So, the news has led off with the story of whats going on in Lebanon for the past 2 weeks, I have been trying not to write about that situation for a while because alot of things about it really bother me. I can't tell if Americans have generally stopped caring about what happens in the Middle-East or if they really just support Isreal in whatever they do. Call me whatever you want, but Isreal has to much power and they are at fault for using unnessecary force in every situation they have been involved in for the past few years. They remind me of someone I went to high school with, who's name I won't say. He was really short and by short I mean even shorter than me, and felt that he had to be a dick to everyone in order to get noticed. Artist number 2, I must admit I wasn't always a fan of. I only listened to the first song by his band back in 2001. I had no idea that "Brick" was about an abortion that he had with his high school sweetheart. None-the-less I gradually became a fan, and since then I have seen him perform live once and it was the best live performance I've ever seen. His solo albums are amazing, and while he gets compared to Elton John alot, I think he is a little more talented on the piano than John is. In case you haven't already guessed it Artist number 2 is...
Went to my parents house for the weekend, we all were invited to my cousin Calvin's wedding. The wedding was alot of fun, but I mean anything is fun when you get 150 people liquored up. As I was sitting at the wedding on Saturday afternoon, my attention was drawn towards my parents, my mom and my step-dad who have been together for as long as I can remember now. I realized how happy they are still even after more than 20 years of being together, its amazing that in today's fickle world somethings seem like they were made to last. Then yesterday I actually watched the final round of the British Open, and watched how good Tiger Woods is first hand. It seemed he wasn't even trying his hardest, but yet he managed to stay a couple steps ahead of everyone else. Speaking of people who are great at what they do, number 3 may still be considered by some people to be the greatest living musician. His reputation took a huge hit in the 90's and then again in the new millennium and it was for the samething both times.
As of today I have exactly six weeks left in Boston. Today also happens to be Bastille Day, viva le revelucion! Tonight is my newly aquired friend Matt's Birthday party, and it comes in the form of a themed party. Now I absolutely hate themed parties, but this one could be fun as the theme is dress erotic and sexy. I of course am not following the theme, but I can't wait to see what everyone else will be wearing.
Artist number 4 is in my opinion the baddest bitch on the planet, and one of the things I must do before I die is attend one of her concerts. In fact the only person I know who likes her more than me, has been sending her emails for like 3 years now telling her that she has to be a guest at there wedding.
Italy won the World Cup yesterday in what was the best Final game I have seen since the 1998 final game. I was cheering on France the whole time, but I suppose I am satisfied that anyone won the cup instead of Brazil. I was going to put up some of the picture that I took at the Alamo in San Antonio last week, but the World Cup out weighs any pictures that I could have taken myself. I flew into Newark International airport early and got to watch the game at my parents house, and then have dinner with them, before heading back to Boston. Altogether last week was amazing, this has been a great summer so far, starting with graduation and San Diego and ending with who knows what.
Artist number 5 is one of my favorite bands of all-time even though they haven't been around for a full 15 years yet.
I'm writing this post from Chicago, Illinois, and what a gorgeous city it is. This is my second time here, but my first since 2003. I haven't been in Boston for almost 2 weeks now it feels like, as I was in Texas for the past week before I came to Chicago. Texas was alot different than I had imagined, and perhaps my low expectations served as a good thing, because i was amazed by everything there. Austin is a very cool city, and San Antonio was just amazing, but it was the people that made Texas truly a great destination. I have only been gone for 2 days and I already miss them all. I think I bring rainy weather with me whereever I go, because it hadn't rained in about 2 months before I got to Texas and then it rained for like 3 out of my 7 days there. I've been enjoying the cooler tempurature here in Chi-town, as well as the very cosmopolitan feel of the city. I just had to write a post because I feel like I haven't in so long now. I will write more once I'm back in Boston as well as finishing my countdown.
