My 26th birthday passed just 2 days ago, with hardly a sound made. I was awaken by a call from my parents at about 6:15 in the morning wishing me happy birthday. Then at work I was greeted by, decorations, cards and cake from my co-workers. Aside from those things, it was mostly a day like any other.
The nicest feeling came from all the messages I received via facebook, I know its hard to forget anyone's birthday these days with all the constant reminders on the internet, but it still means something to me. When I got home and saw the endless messages from my friends all over the world, I was elated to say the least. It's the simple things that make me happy usually, and I find that this translates into every part of my life.
Most people are seeking great fortunes, big houses, political power, or a garage full of expensive cars. While I admit the intrigue of these things are nice, thats not what I'm looking for.
I simply want to be able to afford to move to Europe, write a novel or two, and enjoy the company of all those good friends that I have made over the years. That is my birthday wish in my 26th year of life.
