It's exactly a week away from my 26th birthday, and 26 is starting to sound older and older every time I say it.
I always thought that by the time I turned 26 I would have everything I always wanted. My dream car, my dream job, and living in my perfect house. I'm not sure why I figured success would come so quickly.
In reality on the verge of my 26th birthday, I am living in San Diego, California, not my ideal place but not a terrible place either. If you like the outdoors and the beaches SD is definitely the place for you. I prefer big cities, with a bit faster pace of life, and good public transportation so I don't need a car. examples: London, New York, Toronto
I drive a toyota corolla that I bought earlier this year, out of the desperation of needing a car to get to work. At the time I bought the car, I worked about 20 miles from my house, since then I moved to a closer location only about 7 miles from my house. The car has definitely been useful as the public transport in SD is horrible and takes hours to go very short distances. Still not my ideal car: examples: Mini Cooper, BMW, Mercedes Benz
Currently I work as an Academic Advisor at a university here in San Diego. The job is something I can't really complain about. I enjoy what I do, and it is in the field i would like to be associated with. In the future I want to go back to college and get my masters degree in History. I would love to teach at a College level, and hopefully the next time I write a life assessment I will be closer to achieving that goal.
