There was definitely a lesson to be learned this past week in my life. It's a common theme that everyone on the planet deals with at one point or another. Life is so fragile, and its here one minute and gone the next.
I didn't feel the need to write about Michael Jackson's death, because it was absolutely everywhere. You couldn't go out of your house without hearing about it. It definitely became one of those where were you when this happened moments. Just like the terrorist attacks on September 11th in New York 8 years ago, and the death of Princess Diana 12 years ago, that moment will live in my mind forever. What made me decide to finally log on and write a post however was the news that I received last night about a good friend of mine. You hear on the news all the time about the millions of people with HIV in the world. It all seems so far away, until it happens to someone you know. Out of respect I won't mention any names, but I will just say that when anything like this happens to a young person the feeling of sorrow grows 10 fold inside of me. I'm not a very emotional person, but when a young life is wasted, because of a few bad decisions, it gets me everytime.
