What a day it was in sports yesterday! Manchester United won there 16th Premiership title, there first since 2003. Sir Alex Furgeson's 9th title since he's been manager of United, and Christiano Ronaldo's first as a regular player. The season that he put together this year is one of the best i have ever seen. He scored 23 goals in 38 games and took home the Player of the year award. In two weeks United can complete the season double by winning the FA Cup in the final against Chelsea.
Pete Sampras returned to professional tennis last week, on the Seniors tour and picked up right where he left off. He won the Senior Tours Championship in Boston yesterday. The first time he has played since winning the U.S. Open in 2002. He was definitely my favorite player before he retired, I'd like to see him play this years Wimbeldon and give Roger Federer some competition for a change.
Roger Clemens returned again to baseball, but this time with the New York Yankees. He was suppose to be retired 4 years ago, but every year since then he has announced a comeback. I really like Clemens but its getting old, he should just decide how much longer he wants to play and sign a multi-year contract once and for all. Having said that, a pitcher with 348 wins is a pretty big deal, so the Yankees should be in good shape this season.
