This will probably be the longest post I'll ever write. So my trip to San Diego was one of the best trips I have ever taken. I'm still so excited by it I don't know where to start.
Josh and I flew over to San Diego on Saturday, and in the time we were there, I met so many cool people and did so many interesting things. When we arrived on Saturday we got picked up by my friend Jeff C. from the airport and then drove over to Ocean Beach where one of his friends lived, and proceeded to have the most Californiafied night of my life. Then the next day we took a trip to Coronado which is the beach in the picture above, the beach was gorgeous I can only compare it to the beaches that I've seen in Barbados. That night we didn't really have anything planned so we just hung out in the gaslamp area of the city and there was so much going on it was amazing. Then we went to Mission Beach on Memorial day, which was so packed with people that we could barely walk around, the fact that MTV's beach house is there, probably had something to do with that as well. The next day we went to a Padres baseball game, which was great, the pitcher Chris Young took a no-hitter into the 8th inning. A day at Balboa Park with the Museums and exhibits was next up on the list, followed by a pub crawl that night. The entire vacation took a turn that night, it went from being a tour of San Diego to a drunken adventure. From that point on I hung out with a group of Irish guys, and 2 Irish girls who were traveling around the United States, and then on to Fiji and Australia. The Irish really know how to have a good time when they travel, I must admit. It was like me and Jeff B. in Toronto all over again from that point on. The connections that were made over the last few days were incredible, I made a few new friends and one of the things that makes me travel somewhere is usually if I know some there. I know about 15 people in Cork, Ireland now, so it won't be too long before that is a destination that I will be seeking to visit. By the time it was time to come back to Boston, I had just started to get going in San Diego, I wish I knew it was going to be like that, I would have planned to stay for a little bit longer. I also took a trip down to Tijuana while I was there, but it wasn't really what I was expecting it was a big tourist trap, all kinds of venders looking for American dollars. I would like to go back to Mexico at some point as well, but not to Tijuana, perhaps Mexcio City or Peurto Vallarta. I will finish my countdown of the 100 greatest music artist in my next blog, I am exhausted right now, and I need dinner. So on that note Kudos to the city of San Diego, now included on the list of my favorite cities.
