Everytime I make the trip to New Jersey from Boston the same exact course of events take place. I miss one or two buses because I sleep in late and get to south station just as one is leaving, then I'm forced to sit next to someone, who usually doesn't speak english or is just really obese. I get to New York City in about 4 and a half hours and then I have to manuever my way 9 city blocks from 42nd street to Penn Station where it always seems like I have to fight against the current of people. I get to Penn Station and almost always have to wait an hour for the train to South Orange, so I ended up spending money buying a magazine or something to read for the hour. Then when I get to South Orange I have to wait for one of my parents to come pick me up. If I leave at 10 in the morning there is a good chance I won't actually get to my house in Jersey until 5 or 6 in the evening. I hate the commute home incase you couldn't tell from my discription of it. If I had enough money i would just fly from Boston to Newark Airport every time, and get picked up from there probably cutting the commute by about 5 hours.

I'm finished with finals, and now its time to relax. I haven't done nearly as much this year as I did during my busy summer last year. I have just about 2 and a half months off that I can do with whatever I want. I just don't really know what to do yet. I'd like to take a few trips, but haven't really decided where yet. I made plans with Alex to go back to Montreal with him this summer, but so far we haven't really been planning it, so we'll see if it happens. If 2 months were enough time I would even consider hiking the Appalachian Trail, but unfortunately you have to dedicate between 4 to 5 months in order to comeplete the whole thing. I think I will be in Jersey this weekend coming, so I will definitley have to head back up to Wawayanda State Park, which was amazing in the Fall and should be even better in the summertime.

Next time you go to play basketball at the Marino center watch out for assholes on the first court. I went with my roommate Nathan the other day and we met up with a group of other kids and played a decent game, then some other kids invited us to come play on the first court. From the second the game started this one huge kid started yelling at all his teams to "Grab Rebounds", "PLay Defense", "Pass the Ball." Unfortunatley I was on his team, so i was one of the people he was yelling at. I didn't pay much attention to him for like the first 10 points of the game. Then when I took a shot and missed he started to redicule me for it, and I said "Shut the Fuck up." Biggest mistake I could have made, because that set him off apparently. The problem only escalated from there, because next thing I know I had a 6 foot 5 five inch Gorilla breathing down my back, ready to fight me. Me and a few others ended the game and decided to go back to the court that we were orginally playing on. What really pissed me off was that he came over and sat near the court we were playing on, to continue making fun of me for the way I was playing and just personal stuff about me as well. I wasn't gonna let him make fun of me and laugh about it, so I took the issue a step farther, when what I should have done was been a bitch and reported him to the office downstairs. So after a short war of words, in which I stopped short of telling him that I would rape his wife and eat his children, I left the gym pissed. I only hope that because I stood up to him that other people will next time he thinks he is playing in the NBA Finals at the marino center.

Yesterday was the last day of classes, and of course I had to celebrate in the usual fashion. The thing that sucks is that I'm not finished with my work yet, I still have a paper to write by next week, and two finals to study for. Today will be dedicated to finding a job, something that I should have been doing all along.

I went to Jersey for my sisters graduation, which was fun, came back up to Boston on Saturday in time for a great party in Brighton that evening. Then yesterday was the block party which was surprisingly a good time as well, so I guess it was a great weekend overall.
Just as a side note, I find that when you break-up with someone the intial thought is that the two of you always want to remain friends. I think it works when the two people aren't in close quarters with each other, or just seeing each other everday. Feelings tend to surface and it makes for akward friendship. I feel like Jerry Springer now.

I went to the library at 12:30 this morning and I got out at 8, it took me all day to write a paper for my Sports and Society class. The weather was beautiful today, but I had to be told that by someone who was working a 9-5 job, because I was stuck in Info commons. I'm leaving for New Jersey tomorrow, which means I should pack my stuff up tonight, but I'm not going to, instead I'm going to watch tv and do it last minute like always. My sister is graduating Middle School on friday, which is a strange thing for me because I don't think of her as being a 13 year old yet. I still picture her being 5 years old, playing with dolls and jump ropes and all the other things little girls do. For one thing it makes me feel really old, cause when I started college she was starting the 5th grade.

I felt like I was in a movie last night. You know how you see a scene in a movie where the actor/actress is walking through the worst part of town imaginable. Well last night, I walked from Beacon Hill back to Northeastern at about 1:30a.m. and I was absolutley amazed at everything I saw. First there was a lady wearing next to nothing on the tremont side of the commons, she wasn't remotley attractive, but you could tell she was working. Then inside the park there were bums sleeping everywhere, and I mean everywhere. There were a couple right outside the Park street stop, some laying next to the pavement through the park, two next to the frog pond that was strange to say the least. Next there was a woman running towards a man saying " you go what I need." The man yelled back yea baby, I got what you need right here." I didn't actually see them exchange anything, partly because I was afraid to turn around to look. I was actually afraid for my life every second I was in the commons. I should have written this blog as soon as I got home last night when more of the details were fresh in my altered state of mind.

I'm in a class called Journalism Ethics and Issues, It started out as a pretty boring class but it has been so much fun lately. Today I got there about 10 minutes early, and everyone was already there except for the professor. I have been in classes with almost everyone in Ethics and Issues at some point before so I know them fairly well. The topic that they were talking about was which of our professors was gay. They stated quite a few of the obvious ones, and then they started talking about students who were possibly gay. One girl said "Since I've been at Northeastern I had to shut my gaydar off, there are just to many of them here." Then the fat girl chimed in and asked " does anyone know what time Wendy's closes today." I almost died right there on the spot.
