After reading alot about the situation with the cattle in Montana, and Alberta, Canada I have decieded to exclude beef from my diet completely. Basically what I read told me that a large majority of the cows raised in the US have very low standards to pass health inspections, and they are injected with human growth hormones. Now growth hormones that are in our bodies are fine for us, but in cows they cause a certain dementia (mad cow disease). The most fucked up thing about it, is that you don't get sick from eating infected beef just once, you have to eat it for between 10 - 20 years before you start feeling the effects of it. We aren't hearing alot about it in news right now, but I predict that in about 10 years the number of people infect will sky rocket, and the media will have a heyday with it. I do like an ocassional Cheese Burger, so we will see how long my no-beef stint will last.

There are very few things that I am passionate about. Politics happen to be one of them. I have very strong political views although I am niether Democrat nor Republican. I can't stand when people don't think outside of the box they live in. We live in a country where there are only 2 political Parties and that everyone can be content with that pisses me off. There are certain issues where there isn't just a Black or White answer, there is always a Grey area. Niether party deals with it, and as Americans people just don't question it, instead they vote Red or Blue each time. I voted for John Kerry in this past election, not because he was the better candidate, but for the simple reason that he isn't killing 500,000 people around the world right now in the name of Democracy, that doesn't even work here in the United States. Free and Fair elections, something that has been forced on Iraq and Afghanistan against there will, but that the United States had to do it by force is something that should be in question. Hitler invaded Poland because he wanted them to be under the same political ideals as the Germans, (that and alot more fucked up shit) would he not have been brought up on War Crimes if he didn't commit suicide? Why is it Ok, that George Bush can invade Iraq and Afghanistan and 50% of the people here hail him as a hero? The fact that there are still Americans that believe that the 911 attacks weren't provoked, and that we were just minding our business when we were bombarded is rediculous. How is it that the Canadian form of "Capitalism" works that much better? They can provide services for everyone in there country, have a higher standard of living, and avoid forcing there beliefs on the rest of the world.
Makes me very ashamed to have to tell people that I was born in America.

Spring Break is now only a day away, and I don't think I'm going anywhere for it unless some miracle was to send me a million dollars. I don't even have enough money to have a good time at a bar on any given night. I'm hoping this will all change soon, because I need to get a job. I don't know how I have managed to make it this long without one. The thing I really need to save up for is the trip I plan to take at the end of the semester to Seattle. I don't want to jinx it so I'm not going to say anymore about it for now. I will just refer to it as "Operation: Starbucks" from now on.

I have never paid much attention to Valentine's day, and then I decided to make a big deal out of it this year. Actually the last time I cared about Valentine's day was Senior year in high school, when I bought roses for my girlfriend Jennifer at the time. Well this year, I wanted to spend it doing soemthing fun, and I did just that and it was even more special because I was with good people.

I did pretty well this weekend, I only drank one night, which was Friday night. I drank the nectar of the gods (vodka) and it was delicious. I avoided going to bars, for another weekend, which probably isn't so good. That just means I will go to the bars during the week nights.
I have a mid-term in My African Government and Politics class, tomorrow and if it goes as smoothly as this course is going then I will have an A. I don't even know if I need to study as much as I have planned to, because all the reading for the course is done and my notes are pretty good. Well looks like I will be boozin tonight. Man I'm a sucker for liquor.

I read Joe Doolings profile today, and it was seriously one of the best stories I've ever read. I would have posted it in my blog, but I didn't want to be held accountable for plagiarism. The story describes a day in his life four years ago on Cape Cod with three of his best friends. I have never really been to the Cape, except for Sandwhich, Mass, but I felt like I was there while reading his descriptive story. In just 191 words, he is able to capture the essence of the day perfectly. If only I could write like that, I would be up for a Pulitzer Prize by now.

The Patriots have won the superbowl for the third time since I have lived in Boston. I'm not a big football fan despite the fact that I like to play John Madden football on my computer. It's always exciting to live during a period when there is a dominant team in sports. I've been fortunate enough to have seen a couple so far. The Bulls when they had Michael Jordan, was the most dominat team in Basketball, The New York Yankees when I was in high school was the best team in baseball winning 4 out of 5 world series. Now the Patriots of course are a football dynasty, which is pretty amazing if your a football fan. Now if only Manchester United in the premiership could get on a roll like this and keep winning championships.

I had a paper to write for my history class that was due yesterday. I knew about it for the entire month, yet I put it off until, you guessed it the last minute. I went to the library to do it yesterday, and actually spit it out in 20 minutes. A 1000 word paper in 20 minutes, and it was really good when I went back an read it. I've been hearing some talk about a Pulitzer prize for my work yesterday, I already have two for my books " The Cat in the Hat", and " Charlotte's Web", but I guess another couldn't hurt. Wow, I'm so full of bullshit it just does't stop spewing from my mouth. I really did write the paper in 20 minutes however.
